Curious Characteristics

Imagine the Scenario, your tired: its monday morning: your on a busy tube on your way to work and suddenly...

What is that?
No your eyes aren't decieving you its a walking painting! BRILLIANT!
I recieved an e-mail this morning from Trend Hunter and they sent me into the world of Alexa Meade <3.
She is simply a genius with acrylic paints making real life subjects look asif they have just escaped from a painting. Its hard to believe what your seeing, it just doesn't look real.

I would seriously love to have been there when this guy was rocking about.

Irish eyes are always smiling.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

With the surname 'Mullin' it probably comes as no surprise I have Irish Heritage. This picture was taken in october 09 when me and some of my friends went to Dublin for the weekend. I had the most amazing time!

The final curtain call.

So it seems McQueens work was left to do the talking.
His final pieces are said to be the most beautiful that he has done, however doesnt that always seem to be the case, annoys me when that is said to be honest.

The pieces are however stunning with a real dramatic feel to them, referencing religious icons and angels, it seemed haunting.
High-necked, closely fitted to the body, flattening the breasts, curving delicately over shoulders and swooping into stiff folds of satin from the hips, they were partnered with high-heeled carved gold shoes or thigh-high buckled boots(personal favourite).

It still hasn't been stated who will take over.

Take it Away

Honouring the ateliers and craftsmen of Paris, this year's Chanel Métiers d'Arts collection took inspiration from Shanghai.

Love this, created by Karl Lagerfield.

Memoirs of a Mullin

REAL Geisha Girls...absolutely beautiful!

Harajuku Girls

So I mentioned before going to Tokyo that I was really looking forward to coming across the Harajuku girls and was immediately on the scout for them as I arrived. It seemed that they were not as prominant as I had imagined they were in Tokyo. Whilst shopping in Omote Sando there was a few sightings of them, however Harajuku Square on the saturday afternoon was where I found the majority.

The only way I could describe how they were is by relating them to the 'Scene Kids' on Myspace.(No offence intended) They were very hyper active and obviously out to gain attention, all female and all screaming. They were all dressed in their own style and each had their own personality. After speaking to a Japanese Waitor it seems that Harajuku is not cool anymore and therefore the numbers of them are dwindling.

On the BackBurner...

It has been a while since I last updated my blog due to a lot of effort being put into finishing the first stage of my project. It was a busy busy final week before hand in, and with the excitement looming of my trip to Tokyo just at the end of it.

The final design for my project piece was created in the form of a laptop. With my project being based on ASOS I felt it was important to coincide with the online store theme. The pages were laid out in the form of their website which also made it easier for me to navigate the reader through the report.

I was happy with the final product and fingers crossed so was my tutor. Here is just a few examples of how it looked...
